Background for Editorial
Steve and Lauren are happily married with five boys under the age of 11. Lauren like most boy moms is frequently seen in athletic wear and a messy bun with maybe a hint of mascara and chapstick.
When they look back on their wedding day it is more of a fun evening surrounded by a lot of stress rather than the emotional ties that most couples express when referring to that special day. For this reason, wedding planner Ashleigh from Sweetly Southern Events and photographer Stefanie from Stefanie Kamerman Photography set out to make this editorial have the look and feel of a real wedding. They hoped the would create an environment for models, Lauren and Steve Harney, to experience the emotions that come with a formal wedding.
“Every bride deserves to see the love in their groom’s eyes when they stripe away the day to day and see them for the beautiful woman they are. Every couple deserves to have that one moment that pulls at their heart strings reminding them of every emotion they felt the day the two of them became one!” – Ashleigh Foy
The Manor at Airmont located in Round Hill, VA was the perfect venue to capture this once in a lifetime emotion and provided a breathtaking backdrop for Lauren and Steve to exchange vows.
The floral arrangements, designed by 3 plus 2 Designs contained an ombre effect of shades of white gradually blending in colors of blue, blush, and mauve. The menu cards printed by Raise Your Words off set the colors and added the perfect amount of texture to the table setting.
Dunn from Scratch created a three-tiered wedding cake complete with a standing floral arrangement. A hanging dessert bar held the bridal bouquet and the repurposed centerpiece framing the wedding cake with flowers. Southern Grown Vintage provided a welcome gift for the couple.
Steve dressed in a tuxedo provided by M. Stein Tuxedo Company patiently awaited the arrival of Lauren for their first look. The excitement in the room grew as Lauren dressed in a fit and flare gown, provided by Bridal Elegance of Virginia, and jewelry provided by LEL Jewelry, rounded the corner and caught sight of Steve.
She had traded in her messy bun for a formal updo and highlighted her natural beauty with makeup completed by Radiant Reflections. The entire room could feel the love pouring out of the couple when Steve and Lauren first set eyes on each other.
The ceremony was set in front of the Manor at Airmont’s fireplace with crawling greenery and greenery lined the aisle leading to a half moon ceremony area. Candles and flowers added to the romantic setting as Lauren and Steve exchanged personal vows they and written to express how much they have grown in love these past five years. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
The couple enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Zesty Gourmet Catering and “cheersed” to many more years of love and happiness! The day was truly a dream come true.
